Q+A (we'll be updating this as the questions roll in!)
Q. HOW LONG DOES THE HAIR NEED TO BE?
A. For best results, the hair length should be about 1/4 inches long (approx. the length of your eyebrows). When in doubt, it is better the hair be longer than shorter.
Q. HOW OFTEN SHOULD I GET WAXED?
A. The recommended time between waxing is 5-6 weeks.
Q. I JUST SHAVED, HOW LONG SHOULD I WAIT BEFORE GETTING WAXED?
A. The recommended time after shaving is 2-3 weeks.
Q. WILL I BE PUT INTO ANY AWKWARD POSITIONS?
A. Not at all. All of our services require you to be laying on either your front or back.
Q. I'M A WAX VIRGIN, WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT?
A. Don't be shy, there's a first time for everything! Waxing is our specialty, so it's nothing we haven't seen before. Just tell your Stripper that it's your first time and she'll walk you through the entire process step by step.
Q. WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN BIKINI, FRENCH BIKINI & BRAZILIAN?
A. Bikini removes hair on the sides (think anything outside a classic bikini swimsuit bottom). French Bikini removes hair on the top and sides leaving the labia (think anything outside a thong bikini swimsuit bottom). Brazilian removes everything - front, back and everything in between! You also have the option of leaving a landing strip which is a little patch ontop of the labia.
Q. DO YOU DOUBLE DIP?
A. Here at Stripped, we uphold a very high standard of sanitation. We do not double dip for face, underarm or bikini/brazilian waxing. Tweezers and snippers are disinfected after every use, and our estheticians wear gloves for each and every bikini/brazilian service.
stripped tips
TIP: Keep the wax area clean and dry. Avoid using any creams, gels or oils that may prevent the wax from adhering to the skin.
TIP: Take an aspirin/ibuprofen 30-45 mins prior to waxing to reduce pain.
TIP: Take a warm shower prior to waxing. This will help open your pores & allow the hair follicles to come out easier.
TIP: Exfoliate your skin regularly to rid dead cells around skin pores and hair follicles to provide an easier exit. This will ensure you get a smooth wax and will also help prevent ingrown hairs.
TIP: Hold off on drinking coffee or alcohol before getting waxed. Stimulants in the system can cause the skin to be extra sensitive to waxing.
TIP: Avoid heavy excercise, water related activities or suntanning before & after waxing. This can also cause the skin to be extra sensitive to waxing.
TIP: Wear loose comfortable clothes after getting waxed. This will allow the skin to breathe and be less irritated.
TIP: Don't tense up while waxing (ie. holding your breath or tensing your body).
A relaxed person = less pain. |
